Aikido of Fairfax has been a 15-year dream of mine, which is why I call it the Nintai Dojo, or “School of Patience”—a personal inside joke. Over the years, I’ve come to see the difference between do (the way) and jitsu (technique), and I believe a dojo should be a place for self-discovery and enlightenment through often rigorous training. Inspired by the eight Confucian virtues embraced by 15th-century Samurai, these principles now guide the vision for this dojo.

Aikido of Fairfax is dedicated to exploring both the art and the philosophy of Aikido. We strive to maintain an inclusive environment where all individuals—regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or political affiliation—are welcomed. We expect every participant to demonstrate respect for one another and embody the traditional virtues of the Samurai. Anyone who fails to do so will be asked to leave.
